Defense tech startup Shield AI has raised an additional $300 million in equity and debt, bringing its total Series F funding to $500 million, with a valuation now at $2.8 billion.
The company is developing an “AI pilot” technology to enable autonomous operation of aircraft, aiming to revolutionize aerospace and defense with recent advances in AI and computing power.
Shield AI has also launched V-BAT Teams, a software product to coordinate autonomous missions for its drones, and emphasized the significance of AI-piloted systems for the country’s military deterrence strategy in recent Senate testimony.
