The AI startup EQTY Lab recently launched ClimateGPT, an AI chatbot specifically designed to provide accurate and authenticated climate data. Unlike other AI tools that have faced concerns over the accuracy of the information they provide, ClimateGPT claims to offer “trust and transparency” by drawing on scientific data using a robust model that authenticates, secures, and governs the information provided. The chatbot is integrated with Hedera, a public blockchain, to ensure the highest standards of data integrity, and is powered by technology from Dutch startup Erasmus.AI. Although the chatbot is currently in the early stages of development and its responses have been deemed disappointing, it has the potential to provide reliable, secure climate data and could be a valuable tool for researchers and decision-makers if it can scale up.
