London-based startup Recraft has raised $12 million in a series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman, with plans to develop AI-powered graphic design tools for brand-centric designers.
Recraft differentiates itself by targeting the niche professional segment of brand-centric graphic designing and offers a web platform where users can generate raster images, scalable vectors, logos, and icons through text prompts.
The company plans to use the funding to train its own foundation model for generating style-consistent design elements, sophisticated imagery, and graphic designs, aiming to cater to the evolving market of design-centric generative AI.
