Nijta, a French startup founded by Indian CEO Brij Srivastava, specializes in AI-powered speech anonymization to assist companies in compliant handling of voice data under privacy regulations like GDPR. Backed by €2 million funding from investors like Elaia and Finovam Gestion, Nijta focuses on the European market due to stringent data privacy laws. By anonymizing voices, Nijta caters to various sectors, with call centers handling health data and defense scenarios being key customers.
The startup, emerging from Inria Startup Studio, creates watermarked content for generative AI, ensuring irreversible protection for voice data. Nijta’s aim is to bridge the gap in privacy awareness within voice data processing. Despite eyeing B2C expansion for secure communication services, the team remains committed to balancing growth prospects without compromising quality.
With a team of seven, including co-founders Seyed Ahmad Hosseini and Nathalie Vauquier, Nijta plans to expand to 10 members and overcome internationalization challenges with support from Business France. Headquartered in Lille for strategic connectivity to major European hubs, Nijta seeks to tap into Asia while addressing the multilingual R&D complexities. Additional funding from Bpifrance will further bolster Nijta’s technological development, solidifying its presence in the deep tech market.
