Salesforce, a prominent CRM company led by Marc Benioff, has unveiled plans to enhance Mulesoft’s automation, integration, and API management solutions with new AI tools shortly after launching Einstein Copilot for Tableau. These new features set to roll out in the upcoming months include an Intelligent Document Processing tool for extracting and organizing data from diverse documents and the integration of the Einstein assistant across the board to assist users in driving workflows using natural language prompts.
The aim of these new capabilities is to simplify tasks for developers and business teams, fostering productivity and hastening time-to-value. Salesforce’s focus on enhancing Mulesoft’s platform caters to both IT and business users, with offerings such as the Anypoint integration and API platform for IT functions, and automation solutions like Mulesoft RPA and Composer for business users.
One key addition to the Salesforce suite is the Intelligent Document Processing tool, which leverages pre-trained AI models to automatically extract and structure data from various documents, streamlining the document processing lifecycle. This feature aligns with other vendors offering similar solutions, such as Snowflake’s Document AI.
Moreover, Salesforce has introduced Intelligent Document Processing to its suite, utilizing pre-trained AI models with pre-configured templates to automate the handling of data extraction from documents like PDFs and images. This innovative solution is anticipated to bring efficiency to processes like budget reconciliation, order fulfillment, and supplier onboarding. IDP integrates with the Anypoint platform and automation solutions like Flow and RPA, enabling users to automate the integration of extracted data with Salesforce systems seamlessly.
Currently in a pilot phase with selected customers, Salesforce plans to make IDP generally available by the end of April. Additionally, the company intends to augment IDP with the Einstein predictive and generative AI assistant, empowering it to extract insights from documents upon command, format responses as JSON outputs, and classify and summarize documents.
Looking ahead, Salesforce plans to extend Einstein’s capabilities to other Mulesoft solutions, starting with Flow and Anypoint Code Builder. The integration of Einstein will enable enhanced workflows automation and easier API integration development utilizing natural language prompts.
Salesforce has provided timelines for the rollout of these features, with Einstein for Flow set to launch in June 2024, and Einstein for IDP becoming generally available in the third quarter of 2024. However, Einstein for Anypoint Code Builder remains in beta, with no specified release date for general availability.
