TikTok is testing a new “AI Song” feature that uses AI to create songs based on prompts entered by users. The feature is experimental and currently only available to a select number of users. It generates lyrics using a language model and pairs them with music from a pre-saved catalogue within TikTok.
The AI Song feature includes prompts for users such as “Going to concerts,” “A new beginning,” and “Cuddling with pets.” Users can also enter their own prompts, and the app will then generate a song with lyrics related to the prompt and pair it with music, allowing the user to change the song’s vibe by switching between genres.
TikTok has been expanding its offerings in the music business, with the launch of its subscription-only music streaming service called “TikTok Music” in select countries and the release of a music production app called “Ripple” to help musicians create and edit audio.
