Volkswagen is reportedly in discussions with technology companies to launch an artificial intelligence partnership. The German carmaker aims to create digital prototypes for products and features that use AI and has opened an “artificial intelligence lab” to foster new product ideas, collaborating with technology companies across China, North America, and Europe. The ultimate goal is to develop early-stage prototypes in areas such as voice recognition, AI-optimized charging cycles, and predictive maintenance services. Volkswagen is also exploring how AI can elevate customer experience in the automotive industry, particularly through predictive maintenance and in-vehicle personalization, as well as simplifying the car shopping process. This initiative follows Volkswagen’s recent integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its in-car voice assistant.
