Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced new chips for building and running artificial intelligence (AI) applications, along with plans to offer access to Nvidia’s latest chips. The move is aimed at making AWS stand out as a cost-effective cloud provider by offering top-of-the-line products from Nvidia and other vendors. The new Nvidia H200 GPU will be available for customers to rent, providing faster performance for training AI models. Additionally, AWS unveiled its Trainium2 AI chip for training models and the Graviton4 processor, which offers better performance and energy efficiency. Over 50,000 AWS customers are already using Graviton chips. AWS will operate more than 16,000 Nvidia GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips, benefiting Nvidia’s R&D group and AWS customers. No release dates were provided for the new chips.
