Sam Altman returns as CEO, OpenAI has a new initial board

OpenAI has announced that Sam Altman will return as CEO, with Mira returning as CTO. The initial board will consist of Bret Taylor as Chair, along with Larry Summers and Adam D’Angelo. Altman expressed gratitude for everyone’s hard work and believes in the company’s resilience and probability of success. He also thanked Ilya, Adam, Tasha, Helen, Emmett, Mira, and Greg for their contributions. Altman praised the leadership team and expressed confidence in their ability to run the company. He also welcomed back Jakub, Szymon, and Aleksander. The immediate priorities include advancing research plans, improving products and customer service, and building a diverse board and improving governance. Altman expressed excitement about the future and the team’s ability to build beneficial AGI.
